2nd Annual Counselor's Colloquium

Millennium Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship hosted the 2nd annual counselor’s colloquium on May 31, 2022. Over 55 major organizations and universities attended the 2nd Annual Counselors Colloquium Counselling Evolving Frontiers, and Neelam Naz was invited as a guest speaker. Colloquium topics are based on personal experience emphasizing the importance of equipping the public with the fundamentals of psychological first aid.

Neelam Naz spoke on Psychological First Aid throughout the event, explaining that PFA (Psychological First Aid) is a research-based practice based on the concept of human resilience. PFA seeks to reduce stress symptoms and aid in a healthy recovery after a traumatic event, natural disaster, public health emergency, or just a personal crisis. Secondly, she discussed stress regulation and management techniques for counsellors, stating that there are a variety of strategies to cope with
stress when people perceive a mismatch between a situation’s physical or psychological demands and their biological, psychological, or social systems’
resources.

The subjects covered in the remaining few hours were V2M2, internationalization
of higher education in Pakistan, networking opportunities and certificate distributed among participants. MiTE’s goal is to foster collaboration and national
and international academic connections to promote mutual advancement, societal change, youth development, and academic professional training.
