MiTE GEW - Day 1
Day 1 at MiTE GEW 2023 was a journey through inspiring stories and remarkable achievements. We had the privilege of hearing stories of such incredible individuals like Ameena Saiyid S.I.OBE Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, Zafar Masud, President of The Bank of Punjab, along with Rafiq Rangoonwala, CEO of Quick Foods.
The event kicked off with an invigorating session, ‘Innovate to Elevate – From Passion to Profit,’ featuring YBQ (Yousuf Bashir Qureshi), Adnan Pardesy, Umair Nasir Ali, Amal Qadri, and Parishay Adnan. Our Art & Design department led the discussion, with Sana Khan and Fateh Azim as the moderators.
An award-winning and thought-provoking short film “Murder Tongue” directed by Ali Sohail Jaura and Produced by Zafeer Khan was also screened as part of the GEW.
Insights into social entrepreneurship were shared by change catalysts Asim Rais Siddiqui from TekRevol Pakistan, Syed Rizwan Ali from the Business Incubation Center, Burhan Saiyed from the Institute of Business Administration, and Andeel Ali from the National Incubation Center Karachi.
The session was followed by success stories of our Fintech startups, expertly moderated by Senior Lecturer Muhammad Abu Huraira from DBMS.
Day 1 concluded with a plenary session led by our Faculty of LAWS, navigating the intersection of law and technology, we were privileged to have had these distinguished panelists; Barrister Hassan Arif, Mayhar Kazi, Shahan Karimi, and Komal Shakir moderated by M. Umer Taj from Nomiki Sophia.

Wrapping up an extraordinary Day 2 at MiTE GEW – Global Entrepreneurship Week 2023! 🌐✨
Our stage was graced by two remarkable keynote speakers – Farhan Baig, Chief Business Officer of Bank Makramah Ltd, shared profound insights into the banking industry, and Prof Dr Farhan Essa Abdullah MBBS, MPhil, PhD, FPSIM, FCILT, CEO of Dr. Essa Laboratory, brought a wealth of experience in healthcare and entrepreneurship.
Diving into the intricacies of E-Commerce security, our dynamic panel, including Dr. Adeel Ansari, Engr. Farrukh Nizami, Mr. Ahmed Saeed, and Mr. Ahsan ul Haq, led an engaging discussion moderated by Dr. Waheeduddin Hyder. The insights shared were invaluable for navigating the evolving landscape of digital commerce.
Next, the MiTE ENTREPRENEURIAL Success Stories Session was a celebration of our budding stars! Moderated by our Head of Admissions and Counseling Madiha Muqeem, our students; Ali Imtiaz Rahoojo, Anzeela Imtiaz, M. Hamza Iyas, Ahmed Sarib Altaf , Umar Shamsi, Sarmast Khan, Mudassir Hameed, Usman Tabba, Huzaifa Naveed, Fizza A. , Sohaiba Ahmed, Malik Yafa, Hassan Ali Khan, and Ateeb Saleem showcased their inspiring ventures.
Shaping the future took center stage with a panel on Bridging the Gap between Industry and Academia in the Computing Department. Mr. Syed Azfar Hussain, Mr. M. Talha Haroon, Mr. Syed Ahsan Hussain Tirmizi, Ms. Shumaila Amjad, and Mr. Usman Ali shared their expertise, moderated by Sajid Ali
The culmination of anticipation arrived with the results of Start-up Pool 2.0, and we extend our congratulations to Team Tech Innovators, who had left the jury in awe of their pitch, with forward thinking and a futuristic approach, these young minds turned AR into Fashion. Special thanks to our BBA students; Umar Faisal (Director Business), Hasan Sabir (Campus Ambassador), Sir Muhammad Abu Huraira and Ms. Yumna Mirza for orchestrating the Ultimate Business Competition.
