The Millennium Institute of Technology & Entrepreneurship (MiTE)’s transnational wing, The Millennium Universal Colleges (TMUC), hosted a landmark event ‘MiTE Vogue Night 2025 – Regalia Reclaimed’ on Saturday, May 31st at the iconic Beach Luxury Hotel. The evening brought together the worlds of fashion, performance, and storytelling to celebrate the creative voices of tomorrow. Staged under the prestigious Roots Millennium Education Group, the event reaffirmed TMUC’s commitment to global educational excellence through long-standing partnerships with the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), University of London, University of Hertfordshire, Pearson, and NCC Education.
This year’s edition of MiTE Vogue Night was a powerful, multi-sensory experience, curated to spotlight the originality, vision, and evolving social consciousness of MiTE and TMUC’s graduating fashion and textile students. The evening unfolded through a thoughtfully structured showcase that blended fashion, film, digital arts, and live performance into a cohesive, narrative-driven celebration of emerging talent.
Opening the night was a contemporary display of works by current students from the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Art & Design. Their collections explored themes of sustainability, textile innovation, and cultural reinterpretation highlighting a growing shift toward responsible design practices. The segment reflected the ingenuity of young creatives who are not only experimenting with form and material but are deeply aware of their place in a rapidly changing industry.
The spotlight then moved to the graduating cohort of the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), Class of 2024. Each student presented a final collection that was intimate, conceptually bold, and meticulously executed. From dreamlike explorations of childhood nostalgia and emotional healing to visual metaphors drawn from nature and cosmic transformation, the garments were not merely aesthetic statements they were stories in motion. The audience witnessed a kaleidoscope of personal expression and global inspiration, brought to life on the runway.
The narrative transitioned into cinematic territory with the screening of “JADU,” a short film directed by UCA Film & Digital Art student Laiba Shakeel. Poetic, visually charged, and thematically layered, the film offered a meditative interlude that bridged the physical and digital dimensions of contemporary art.
One of the most moving moments of the evening came through a tribute performance in solidarity with Palestine, led by student artist Rafeh Sheikh. Combining fashion, performance, and multimedia expression, the piece paid homage to resilience and resistance through art.
Adding a poetic dimension to the evening, Ms. Kulsoom Aftab performed a powerful tribute to the late Amjad Islam Amjad, the celebrated poet and playwright. Her theatrical performance brought to life the emotional depth and literary brilliance of his legacy.
The final segment featured the UCA Class of 2025, showcasing collections under the theme “Designing the Future: Consciousness, Change & Creativity.” The collections demonstrated bold experimentation with technology-infused textiles, avant-garde silhouettes, and socially reflective narratives asserting that fashion can be both expressive and transformative. Over 70 original garments were exhibited during the course of the evening.
The event was graced by Madam Sultana Siddiqui, President of HUM TV Network, as the Chief Guest. A pioneering figure in Pakistan’s media and entertainment landscape, she praised the students’ work, stating, “The collections we saw tonight speak volumes about the future of fashion in Pakistan, one rooted in culture, yet boldly global in vision.”
Other distinguished guests included Nadra Panjwani, Chairperson of the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR); Nasreen Jalil, former Senator and senior political leader; Madam Shahnaz Wazir Ali, President of SZABIST; Mr. Farooq Sattar; Mr. Amir Chottani, CEO of Chottani Industries and Chairman PRGMEA SZ; Mr. Nadeem Chishti, Head of External Affairs and CSR PARCO; Jehan Ara, Founder Katalyst Labs; Tehnima Khalid, CEO of Take II PR; and prominent fashion figures Mr. Ikhtiyar Baig and Mr. Ishtiaq Baig.
